PORT MELBOURNE SHOPPING PRECINCT
The Port Melbourne Shopping Precinct is the promotional brand under which our work is presented. It is run by the Port Melbourne Business Association, a volunteer committee made up of local traders and property owners who manage the special rate on behalf of businesses along Bay Street and the surrounding areas.
COUNCIL PARTNERSHIP
This special rate is collected from eligible businesses, passed on to Council, and then directed back to us. These funds allow us to support and promote the precinct through initiatives that strengthen business activity, attract new customers, and foster a strong sense of community. Our purpose is simple: to help local traders grow, build connections, and ensure Bay Street remains a vibrant destination for both locals and visitors. We listen to our members and the community, liaising regularly with council to ensure our voices are being heard.
OUR MEMBERS
We would like to sincerely thank all past members and committee members who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes since the organisation’s inception. Their dedication has laid the groundwork for the precinct’s success, and we look forward to building on this legacy with new directions and exciting changes ahead.
OUR COMMITMENT
Over the years, we have proudly supported a range of events and activations designed to bring people together and boost trade. These include the popular Howl-O-Ween Dog Parade, the Christmas Artisan Market, and the Indigenous Market, Port Melbourne Music Crawl, as well as many smaller installations and initiatives. Each of these projects reflects our ongoing commitment to creating a lively and welcoming environment for the community and businesses alike.
